August was another major month of building across Velvet.
We introduced Velvet Flash 0.1 for Velvet-1, launched 1,600+ Velvet Unicorn Skills, expanded Velvet X across new chains, brought more social and wallet intelligence into the platform, and continued removing friction from the trading experience.
Across AI, trading, SocialFi, and rewards, the focus remained the same: make it easier for traders and agents to discover opportunities, understand markets, and execute from one platform.

AI Updates
August was a major month for Velvet’s AI stack. We introduced Velvet Flash 0.1, launched a library of 1,600+ Velvet Unicorn Skills, transformed the VU X agent into a full content engine, and improved the intelligence powering both Alpha Signals and the main Velvet agent.
Introducing Velvet Flash 0.1 for Velvet-1
We launched Velvet Flash 0.1, our in-house 4-billion-parameter model built specifically for safe and reliable crypto operations.
Despite its smaller size, Velvet Flash ranked #1 in our crypto-skills benchmark, outperforming significantly larger general-purpose models.
Velvet Flash is designed to understand trading intent, select the correct platform command, accurately interpret tokens, amounts, and chains, identify risky requests, and require confirmation before actions involving funds.
This represents an important step toward Velvet-1 and our broader goal of building specialized crypto-native models for onchain intelligence and execution.
Velvet Unicorn Skills: The Capability Layer for Onchain Agents
We launched Velvet Unicorn Skills, giving builders and AI agents access to 1,600+ ranked skills across 25 categories, with a major focus on blockchain.
The library spans swaps and DEXs, Perps, DeFi and yield, cross-chain execution, wallets, analytics, security, prediction markets, and more.
Combined with VU’s API, MCP, and Prompt-to-Strategy infrastructure, Skills moves Velvet closer to turning AI that knows into AI that does, giving agents the capabilities to research markets, build strategies, and execute increasingly complex onchain workflows.
VU Becomes a Full AI Content Engine
The Velvet Unicorn X agent now operates as a full content engine, publishing seven distinct formats throughout the week, including market digests, token signals, theses, forecasts, recaps, and weekly Top-3 opportunities.
Every post passes automated quality checks, while approximately one in every three posts features branded AI-generated video.
VU can also identify trending crypto topics, analyze viral posts, and respond directly to users within seconds using fresh research, turning it into an interactive AI market participant.
Fewer Signals, Better Alpha
After studying 1,127 historical Alpha Signals, we found token turnover was approximately 2x more predictive of performance than the existing model score.
We rebuilt signal selection around these findings, moving from bursts of up to 10 calls to approximately 3–5 higher-conviction signals per day, with a materially higher hit rate.
We also added Robinhood Chain as a signal source and enabled Telegram signals to be mirrored directly into partner communities.
A Smarter Velvet AI Agent
The main Velvet agent received a major upgrade to keep pace with Velvet X.
We added Stable Chain and Robinhood Chain support, improved portfolio analysis, and updated the agent’s knowledge of Velvet X, Copy Trading, the Trader Leaderboard, fees, Gems, Epochs, and veVELVET.
Tech & Product Updates
August brought another major wave of upgrades across multi-chain trading, wallets, SocialFi, Perps, Trenches, and rewards.
More Chains, More Ways to Trade
We expanded Velvet’s multi-chain reach with Ethereum mainnet cross-chain trading and Stable Chain.
Robinhood Chain also received a major expansion. Users can now access swaps through Velvet’s meta-aggregator alongside Limit Orders, Copy Trading, Auto-Sell, DCA, and Trenches coverage across Robinhood Chain launchpads.
Multiple Wallets Come to Velvet
Users can now create and manage multiple wallets under a single Velvet account and quickly switch between Wallet 1, Wallet 2, and beyond from the redesigned wallet menu.
This gives active traders more flexibility to manage different strategies and trading activity without leaving Velvet.
Airdrop & Staking Experience Goes Live
We launched a dedicated Airdrop experience, allowing users to check eligibility and claim rewards directly through Velvet.
Users can also claim and stake in a single action, manage staking rewards, withdraw positions, enable auto-renewal, and extend staking duration from the same interface.
Social Trading Expands
We continued building out the social layer of Velvet X.
Users can now follow traders, view follower and following lists, explore individual trader feeds, and switch between All, Following, and My Activity.
Trade cards now display entry and exit prices, while dedicated Velvet Watchlists make it easier to discover and monitor KOLs, Smart Money, and Institutions.
Trenches Gets a Major Redesign
The Trenches experience received another major upgrade for active traders.
The redesigned interface introduces:
Turbo/P1/P2/P3 trading modes
Hover-to-pause and manual pause for live columns
Desktop column controls
Improved quick-buy controls
Together, these upgrades give traders more control over how they discover and act on newly launched tokens.

Cross-chain trading volume now counts toward Trading Volume Rank, allowing more activity across Velvet to contribute toward rewards.
We also introduced a welcome boost for new users and launched Epoch 12, continuing the next phase of the Velvet Gems campaign.
Community & Ecosystem Updates
August was another active month across the Velvet ecosystem, with the next Gems Epoch announced, new chains and trading experiences launched, and more traders discovering Velvet X through demos, livestreams, and community events.
Gems Epoch 12 Announced
We announced Gems Epoch 12, with the next $VELVET rewards distribution scheduled for October 10th.
Users can continue earning Gems through their activity across Velvet, increasing their position on the leaderboard and potential allocation for the next airdrop.
Full Velvet X Demo with TheArtOfWarren
We released a full-length Velvet X demo featuring Degen Mike onboarding TheArtOfWarren onto the platform.
The walkthrough covered the complete experience, including Trending, gasless cross-chain swaps, Trenches, Velvet Unicorn AI, Top Traders, Perps, rewards, and instant onboarding.
Robinhood Trenches Launch
We expanded our Robinhood Chain integration with the launch of Robinhood Trenches on Velvet X.
Traders can now discover newly launched tokens across Robinhood Chain launchpads, analyze opportunities, and trade directly through Velvet X.
Real-Time Activity Across 13M+ Traders
We expanded the Social Feed with a real-time transaction feed covering the 13M+ traders and wallets mapped by Velvet.
Users can follow traders and see their latest buys and sells as they happen, bringing real onchain activity directly into the Velvet X social trading experience.
Comment Tokens in the VelvetX Feed
Comment your token thesis in the VelvetX feed, sharing your buys with the world and making VelvetX a more social trading experience.
More Gasless & Multi-Chain Trading
Gasless trading launched on Base, allowing users to trade without needing ETH in their wallet to cover network fees.
Velvet also launched on Stable Chain, further expanding the number of ecosystems accessible through our multi-chain trading infrastructure.
Perps Trading Competition Concludes
Our 75M Gems Perps Trading Competition concluded in August, rewarding active Perps traders for trading through Velvet.
Trenching Livestreams & Weekly Spaces
Degen Mike continued hosting live trenching sessions throughout August, including streams with JCrew and PhilOnChain, using Velvet X to discover and trade opportunities live.
We also continued our weekly Velvet Community Spaces every Monday at 7PM UTC, covering product releases, AI, trading, ecosystem developments, ask questions to the team, and hear what’s coming next first.
