July was another major month of building for Velvet.
We launched the Velvet Unicorn Bot for Telegram, bringing our AI directly into the chats where crypto communities already live. We also launched gasless trading, expanded to Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum, rolled out our Social Feed powered by data across 13M+ wallets, and continued improving Perps for active traders.
Let’s dive in.
Tech & Product Updates
Gasless Trading Goes Live
One of our biggest UX improvements yet: gasless trading is now live on Velvet.
Users can trade without worrying about holding native gas tokens across different chains. Velvet handles gas behind the scenes, allowing traders to focus on the trade instead of managing ETH or other gas assets across networks.
This also extends to cross-chain trading, making it possible to move between ecosystems and execute trades with significantly less friction.
Robinhood Chain & Arbitrum Go Live
Velvet continued its multi-chain expansion with the launch of trading on Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum.
We integrated Robinhood Chain with full trading and cross-chain bridging, including gasless functionality, giving Velvet users access to one of crypto’s newest ecosystems.
Arbitrum trading also went live, allowing users to discover and trade tokens across the network directly through Velvet.
SocialFi Comes to Velvet X
We launched the next major piece of the Velvet X vision: the Social Feed.
With data mapped across 13M+ wallets, Velvet is building a social trading layer around what traders are actually doing onchain.
The Social Feed brings together:
Live buy and sell activity from wallets you follow
Token attachments and charts directly inside posts
A dedicated Following feed
Posts, reactions, and comments
PnL share cards
The goal is to connect social discovery, onchain activity, and execution in one trading experience.
Major Perps Upgrades
We continued upgrading the Perps experience for active traders across desktop and mobile.
New functionality includes:
Improved mobile trading module
Partial position closing
Perps trading with external wallets
We also completed the end-to-end design for Copy Trading, including both wallet and Perps copy-trading flows, alongside designs for the Perps Trader Leaderboard, trader profiles, and signal feed.
Velvet X Opens Up
We removed the Velvet X invite wall, meaning anyone can now enter and browse the platform without connecting a wallet.
A wallet is only required when you’re ready to trade.
At the same time, users who previously joined the Velvet X waitlist began receiving access as we progressively opened the platform to more traders.
More Trading Tools
Several other major trading improvements went live in July:
DCA Sell Orders: Automate selling positions over time
Global Search: Search across tokens, Perps markets, and traders from one place
Cashback Transparency: See per-transaction cashback breakdowns across EVM and Solana
AI Updates
Velvet Unicorn Comes to Telegram
In July, we launched the Velvet Unicorn Bot for Telegram, bringing Velvet’s AI directly into Telegram chats.
Instead of requiring users to leave their communities to research a token, Velvet Unicorn can now bring AI-powered crypto intelligence directly into the conversations where traders are already discovering and discussing opportunities.
It’s another step toward making Velvet’s intelligence available wherever traders spend their time, not just inside the Velvet platform.
Velvet Unicorn Joins the Virtuals Agent Economy
Velvet Unicorn also joined the Virtuals agent economy and connected with EconomyOS.
This expands VU beyond the Velvet ecosystem and connects our AI infrastructure to a growing network of autonomous agents.
As agent-to-agent coordination and autonomous trading become increasingly important, we want Velvet Unicorn positioned directly within this emerging economy.
Security Checks Come to Velvet AI
Velvet’s main AI agent can now run Webacy security checks when analyzing tokens.
This adds another layer of intelligence to token research, helping users identify potential security risks alongside market, social, and onchain analysis.
The goal isn’t just to help traders discover opportunities. It’s to give them more information to evaluate those opportunities before executing a trade.
Community & Ecosystem Updates
75M Gems Perps Trading Competition
We launched a major Perps Trading Competition with 75 million Gems in rewards, giving active Perps traders another opportunity to boost their Gems allocation while trading through Velvet.
America’s 250th Anniversary Trading Challenge
We also celebrated America’s 250th anniversary with a special trading challenge.
Users who traded $250K across Perps + Spot competed for their share of a 25M Gem pool, helping boost their allocation in the upcoming $VELVET rewards distribution.
Expanding Velvet Across New Ecosystems
July saw several major ecosystem milestones come together:
Robinhood Chain trading launched
Social Feed went live with data mapped across 13M+ wallets
Velvet X waitlisted users began receiving access
Together, these launches continued expanding both the reach and functionality of Velvet X.
Building the Future of Agentic Trading with Virtuals
We hosted the Virtuals team for a livestream discussing the future of AI agents for trading and what Velvet is building at the intersection of AI, autonomous agents, and onchain execution.
We also hosted a Velvet Africa livestream, continuing to grow and engage the Velvet community globally.
YZi Labs Amplify Season 1
Velvet joined the YZi Labs Amplify Season 1 Creator Campaign with EchoHunt, giving creators another opportunity to create content around Velvet and earn rewards.
Weekly Community Spaces
We continued hosting our weekly Velvet Community Spaces every Monday at 7PM UTC, covering product launches, AI, trading, ecosystem developments, and what’s coming next.
July was about making Velvet easier to access, easier to trade on, and more intelligent.
Gasless trading removes another layer of complexity. SocialFi brings traders and onchain activity together. New chains expand where users can trade. And Velvet Unicorn continues moving closer to traders wherever they are.
More chains. More intelligence. Less friction.
And we’re just getting started.
